The Over-Soul (1841) - Ralph Waldo Emerson. This has one of the most beautiful passages on the nature of our soul ever written:
”What we commonly call man does not, as we know him, represent himself, but misrepresents himself. Him we do not respect, but the soul, whose organ he is, would he let it appear through his action, would make our knees bend. When it breathes through his intellect, it is genius; when it breathes through his will, it is virtue; when it flows through his affection, it is love. And the blindness of the intellect begins when it would be something of itself.”

How do leaders lead meaning-making at work and the more purposeful businesses that 21st-century workers claim they crave?

Getting The Love You Want: A Guide for Couples - Harville Hendrix
Probably the best book I’ve read on relationships. Simply written and insightful, Dr. Hendrix was a Pastor and the church asked him to do couple’s counselling. He was so good at it they sent him to Harvard to do his PhD in couples’ therapy and he wrote this book. For this edition he and his wife, Helen LaKelly Hunt, have added a new introduction
